Saturday we enjoyed the information provided from the Emergency Response Officer and Steve from Marlow Hunter. The evening was great with a great dinner and dance with a live band.
For us this was the best way to start our journey.

The next stop on our journey is Oswego. We departed Little Sodus Bay at 8am and arrived in Oswego at 10am. Very little wind and great conditions to move along with the mast down.
We checked in at the Oswego Marina and purchased our Boat Tow USA coverage and our cruising licence which is good for a year. We continued into the Oswego Canal which is 7 locks. We traveled all day to reach the last lock. At about 5pm we landed at lock 1 and stayed for the night.

We started towards Lake Oneida, the weather was a bit overcast but calm winds. We had one Lock to go thru. We were approaching Brewerton N.Y. when we got the call from home that Gord's dad was not doing very good. We were right beside a marina at the time so we pulled in for the day. We had only travelled for a short time. About noon we got the call that Gord's dad had passed so we arranged for a slip for the week, rented a car and made our way home. We got to Port Perry, Ontario about 9:15pm. We will be home for a week. Our journey south will resume August 14th, 2013
